These positions value the actual Whitehaven visit first. A snorkel-first traveller could sensibly move the Bait Reef trip up. A person who wants the quietest possible beach afternoon could rank ZigZag first. The underlying inclusions and exclusions matter more than the ordinal number.

1. Ocean Rafting South: the Hill Inlet all-rounder
The South Whitehaven option advertises both the northern and southern ends, the Hill Inlet walk, about two hours on Whitehaven and a fringing-reef snorkel. North changes the balance towards two snorkel stops and less beach time. The semi-rigid inflatable is fast and lively, with restrictions for pregnant passengers and people with back or mobility problems. The beach-only ticket offers up to four hours at Whitehaven, a South Lookout walk, buffet lunch and boat-to-beach transfers during the stop. An air-conditioned cabin and bathrooms make it an easier base for mixed-age groups. The snorkel ticket puts some of that beach time into a guided fringing-reef outing on a smaller boat. Crucially, the South Lookout is not the Hill Inlet lookout. This is for someone who wants to spend the day at Whitehaven rather than collect the northern viewpoint.

3. Camira: make the sailing part of the day
Camira's large catamaran visits the north end for Hill Inlet when tides allow, adds a fringing-reef snorkel and includes meals and drinks. The operator says low tide can prevent Hill Inlet access, in which case it visits the south end instead. The listing excludes children under four and says snorkellers need adequate swimming ability because it does not provide flotation devices. The listing offers up to two hours on Whitehaven, tea and a self-guided South Lookout walk. It explicitly does not go to Hill Inlet. Its journey includes Daydream and Hamilton Island pickups, so a 'half-day' label does not mean only a few hours from departure to return. There can also be a vessel change at Hamilton. It makes sense if an easier beach visit beats a packed snorkel-and-hike day.
