Ocean Rafting sells two Airlie Beach itineraries under its GetYourGuide listing. Northern Exposure visits the northern end of Whitehaven near Hill Inlet, takes a guided walk to the lookout and makes two snorkel stops around Hook Island. Southern Lights visits Hill Inlet too, then gives you a longer stop at Whitehaven's southern end and one snorkel site around Border or Dumbell Island. If someone says Ocean Rafting has two snorkel stops, ask which ticket they mean.

Camira's listed route sails among the islands, stops at Whitehaven for a guided Hill Inlet walk and beach time, then visits a fringing reef for snorkelling before returning. The number of stops matters more than a vague promise to “see everything”. If your priority is two chances to get in the water, Northern Exposure has the clearer itinerary. If sitting on a sailing vessel is as important as the destinations, Camira gives that journey a much bigger role.

Ocean Rafting's FAQ gives Northern Exposure roughly one to one-and-a-half hours at the northern end, including Hill Inlet, and Southern Lights about two to two-and-a-half hours at the south end. Northern Exposure is scheduled from 8:45 am to about 3:30 pm; Southern Lights from 10 am to about 4:30 pm. These are operator timetables, not a guarantee that every stop runs to the minute.

Camira is scheduled from Port of Airlie at 8:15 am, returning at approximately 5:30 pm. Its page promises free time on Whitehaven but does not publish a fixed number of hours ashore. Much of the point is the scenic outward and return sailing, with morning and afternoon tea, a barbecue lunch and drinks included. Ocean Rafting includes a tropical-style lunch, morning and afternoon tea, snorkel kit and flotation devices; drinks beyond tea are sold separately. Do not compare the total tour durations as if they were beach-time figures.

Ocean Rafting uses open semi-rigid inflatables designed for a fast ride. Camira is a sailing catamaran, with boarding and tender transfers for the stops. Neither is a stationary beach shuttle. The Camira listing sets a minimum age of four and says snorkellers must have adequate swimming ability because flotation devices are unavailable. Its Hill Inlet visit is tide-dependent: when access is restricted, Camira goes to southern Whitehaven instead. Treat the lookout as planned, not guaranteed.

Ocean Rafting says its Airlie Beach tours can take most children from six months, weather permitting. Its listing excludes pregnant guests, people with back problems and people with mobility impairments; check your own situation directly with the operator. It supplies flotation devices and personalised snorkel instruction. That makes it the more flexible published snorkel arrangement for a less confident swimmer, although a fast, sometimes bumpy open-boat ride may still rule it out.
